Faith for Finances (Part 1)
Dr RJ Sing
“And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work”
Another area in which we need to apply the Principle of Faith is that of Financial and Material Provision. The whole Bible abounds with both assurances and examples of God’s Ability to provide for His people’s needs, even in situations where there is no human or natural source of supply. It is worthwhile to examine the above verse more closely.
The level of Provision that is revealed in the above verse is not mere sufficiency, it is abundance. There is actually three levels of Provision on which people may live, Insufficiency, Sufficiency and Abundance. Let us illustrate the above point with an example; A homemaker who needs R100 worth of Groceries but has R20 in her purse is shopping out of insufficiency. A homemaker who needs R100 worth of Groceries and has R100 in her purse is shopping out of sufficiency.
But a homemaker who needs R100 worth of Groceries, and has R200 in her purse is shopping out of Abundance. Abundance does not necessarily depend on money or material possessions. Abundance simply means that God supplies all that we need, with something to spare for others. A perfect example of this is our Lord Jesus Christ. He never lacked anything for Himself.
