The Blood of Jesus Brings Resurrection
Dr RJ Sing
“We were buried with Him (Jesus) through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”
Four times in John 6, Jesus said about the Believer, “I will raise him up at the last day” (See verse 39, 40, 44and 54) Resurrection is a part of Salvation. John 6:54-56 “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
The words eat, drink and abides are in the continuing present tense. ‘He who continuously feeds on my flesh, and continually drinks my blood, continually abides in me and I in him’ It is very clear that the Lord attaches tremendous importance, to feeding on his flesh and drinking his blood. Here He is talking about the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, The Communion.
To have eternal life, we have to drink Jesus blood and feed on his flesh. The death and resurrection of Jesus are the greatest events in history. For millions of Christians remembering these events continues to be an important part of everyday life.
