Christ Lives in Me

Dr RJ Sing

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15: 3-4

Hot, freshly baked bread spreads a lovely aroma through the house, but after four days, the same bread is old and moldy. The same can sometimes apply to Christians. When we first become Christians, we are enthusiastic and filled with zeal. But the longer we are believers, the greater the danger becomes that our earlier enthusiasm about our Faith could wane. It might become necessary to once again return to the fundamental truths of our Faith. The Faith of the People in Corinth started to wane. Paul described for them the cornerstones on which their Faith was founded; Jesus’ crucifixion and His resurrection. “This is what we preach, and this is what you believed” he wrote.

Through this confession of Faith, Paul wants to focus the thoughts of the Corinthians on Jesus once again. Has your own Faith, overtime become diluted? Then you must return to the fundamental truths of your Faith. The resurrection of Jesus only becomes reality when Jesus becomes your life. Then you can declare with Paul, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
