Not by Works but by His Grace
Dr RJ Sing
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”
People may remind you of who you used to be and what you used to do but that is not their place. The day you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour you were declared righteous. To God every sin that you ever did is non-existent.
The blood of Jesus washed you anew and presented you as blameless to God. It was a precious sacrifice but unless you believe you are righteous, you will keep on living a life of feeling condemned. That is not your portion, you have been freed, forgiven, redeemed. The price paid for you is too precious not to enjoy. When the devil tries to remind you of the past tell him to flee, you are the righteousness of God.
You have a blood bought right to be called the righteousness of God and no one can take it away from you. The word of God says,” If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9. We cannot work our way to heaven, but because we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, we will have good works - not to be saved, but because we are saved.
