God’s Principles for True Wealth – Part 7
Dr RJ Sing
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?”
If money does not serve the Kingdom, then it perverts, soils and destroys its owners. Therefore, our motives must be right when it comes to gaining money and riches. Our motive for enrichment should be the Kingdom of God at all times. Our perspective must always be right and we must not be enslaved by the love of money.
Consider the example of the rich young ruler – Matthew 19:21-22 “Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell everything you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 22 But when the young man heard this, he went away sadly, for he was very rich.” He failed the test because he loved his riches.
When we suffer from the disease of loving money, it will always elude us. Money is merely a tool, by which we meet our needs and accomplish the purpose of God. We must learn to rule over money because, money is there to serve us and meet our outward needs and resolve issues of life.
