Love’s Idea

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”
Your friendship with God is as though no wrong had ever been done. It was a Love’s idea. Now you can understand why Jesus Christ came and died for you. “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life” John 3:16 MSG.
In order to provide you a substitute who had no sin of his own, God gave His own Son. Jesus was born by a miracle conception. The spirit of God overshadowed a virgin and the seed of Divine life was created in her womb. In that way Jesus was not born of human seed that was infected by sin. Not only His conception, but His life among people must be sinless, in order to be your substitute.
God’s Son must be subjected to the same temptations of sin as any human person is. He must be exactly like you and resist what human persons had not resisted. He must prove that God’s original plan could work, that human persons could choose God’s Word, and never dishonor His integrity. Jesus must be tempted by satan just as Adam and Eve had been. But He overcame every temptation.
