Your Picture Is on God's Palm: Help Is on Its Way

Dr RJ Sing, 24 min

Originally recorded as “God Is Faithful”

Sermon outline

God has not forgotten you: your picture is on the palm of His hand and help is on its way, so keep speaking it, refuse to faint, strengthen yourself and remember that God is faithful.

Main text

  • Isaiah 49:15-16

Opening

He tells the church he will share a short word to encourage them and has them say, "Today I'm a fighter." He then reads Isaiah 49:15-16 from the Amplified Bible: a mother may forget her nursing child, but God will never forget you.

  1. 1. God's not forgotten you

According to the Amplified Bible, God has a picture of you tattooed on the palm of each hand, so when you feel that everyone has forgotten you, God has not. Change your talking and stop speaking death over your situation: think big and prophesy big over your business, the way he prophesies thousands over the church. The people who backstabbed you and spoke limitations over you have not got away with it, and the God who chose you is well able to finish the work He started in you.

Illustration: The new cell phones can take a photograph. In the same way God has your picture in the palm of His hand, so every time you pray He sees you and says help is on its way.

“God's got a picture of you in the palm of his hands.”

  2. 2. Help is on its way

Keep talking it and keep believing it, because a negative mouth can turn back the miracle that is already flowing towards you. The anointing breaks the yoke, and God stays with you when you are knocked down, broke, grieving or even in the wrong. So let go of childish things and prophesy: over your husband, your wife, your children and your home. What puts you over in life is not man, money or religion but the presence of God, who does not take away but blesses and multiplies.

Illustration: At a funeral in a very religious church a brother prayed that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. He answers that not every line recorded in the Bible is God speaking (it also records that Judas hanged himself), so you must rightly divide the word. He also points to the prayer stuck on the pulpit, which for two or three years has called in prompt, diligent, dedicated, committed people from the east, west, north and south.

“Just keep on speaking it, keep on speaking it, it's coming, it's coming.”

  3. 3. Don't faint

Proverbs 24:10 says that if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is weak, and the Living Bible calls you a poor specimen if you cannot stand the pressure. Your tongue is the pen of a ready writer, so write blessing with it instead of cursing what you have. Most of the time we put a lid on our own lives: limitation, intimidation and despair. God has put a fight in you, so make up your mind not to faint.

Illustration: Sit in your old car and prophesy that it is a great car instead of cursing it. He then tells how he was saved: as a Hindu boy studying at home by a lamp he heard a voice tell him to go and look for a pastor, he found one in the area, and it took the pastor five hours to show him the plan of salvation. He says he proved God for himself.

“Get knocked down, but stand up again, and press on.”

    • Proverbs 24:10
    • Psalm 45:1
  4. 4. Strengthen yourself

Encourage yourself, speak to yourself and motivate yourself, because God is with you. If you have sinned, He is faithful and just to forgive: ask forgiveness and move on, because God does not remember it and you are not meant to walk under condemnation. You are the salt of the earth, and a dying world can only be touched by the Christian.

“Always remember, no matter what you go through, God is faithful.”

    • 1 John 1:9
    • Matthew 5:13
  5. 5. You are mighty

The last point is that you are the mighty, the army of the Lord, so carry yourself like it. He passes on a challenge to invite people to church: if each one brings one, the church doubles. The building is being extended because the harvest is coming.

Illustration: He loves the way African people sing, because a warrior spirit comes when they start, while some of us walk around as if we have just had lemon for breakfast. The church has broken a wall to move back, add a stage and another 40 cinema chairs, and seat almost 200, or 400 over two services.

    “You are the mighty.”

Putting it into practice

  • Change your talking: stop speaking death over your situation and keep saying that help is on its way.
  • Prophesy over your spouse, your children, your home and your business.
  • Make up your mind not to faint under pressure. If you get knocked down, stand up and press on.
  • Ask forgiveness, let the old life go and move on without condemnation.
  • Invite one person to church and tell them what great things God is doing for you.

Closing

He tells the church he is not trying to entertain them but is prophesying, and that they prophesy as they speak the word. He ends by decreeing that God is with them and will never leave them nor forsake them.
