Sermon outline
Sons of God are meant to live like their Father, by faith, speaking words that carry His power and expecting supernatural supply, because they are already anointed.
Main text
- Ephesians 1:3
- Acts 10:38
Opening
After worship, a devotional reading and an offering led by others, he prays for revelation knowledge to flow and adds notices about the Phoenix outreach and a business and professional breakfast. He says that since he preached on the law of multiplication and increase in Phoenix on Sunday, the church has seen phenomenal financial provision that week, which shows that the days of the supernatural are not over.
From analytical to believing: the law of abundance
He admits he was trained to be analytical, and for years refused his wife's advice to pray about small things, until God showed him that if he would not trust Him for small things he could not trust Him for big ones. Good financial management, budgets and avoiding too much credit are right, but above the natural law there is a law of abundance that provides for a son of God, even in famine. Being rich in Bible terms means a full supply: enough for your needs, to bless others and to bless the kingdom.
Illustration: Before ministry he worked in a profession where he presented cases in court, and nothing could be hearsay; everything had to be factual. Now he prays even for a parking space at the shopping mall.
“If you exercise your faith with the little things, you will develop faith muscles to start handling bigger things.”
- Mark 4:28
- Genesis 26:12
- Genesis 13:2
Sons of God manifest the character of God
In nature everything takes after its kind: dogs bark, fish swim, birds fly. So it is a contradiction for the sons of God not to show the character of God. They see further, they are people of vision, and they can move into the supernatural gift of faith. While others grovel to make ends meet, they make faith declarations and call those things that be not as though they were.
Illustration: When the bank refuses you a loan to buy a business because there is not enough equity, smile: it is not your equity but your faith that will secure what you need.
“You are not normal people. You are the sons of God.”
- Genesis 1:24-25
- 1 Corinthians 12:9
- Romans 4:17
Your words carry divine enablement
The God kind of faith speaks, and things change: by words Jesus stilled the storm, put a coin in a fish's mouth, multiplied bread and fish, turned water into wine and walked on water. The world thinks believers are abnormal, but in Christ we have been restored to our original place after the fall of the first Adam. Your words are vehicles that carry power, and meditating on the Word is what charges them.
“Your words are vehicles that carry dunamis power.”
- Mark 4:39
- Matthew 17:27
- Matthew 14:19-21
- John 2:1-11
- Matthew 14:25
Supernatural means God's super over your natural
First do the natural, then look to God and His Word, and supernatural things happen: money multiplies, debts are erased and people dream that they must give to you. God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing; the natural world depends on the spiritual, so what you need already exists. Jesus came to give a life of overflow, but it manifests only for those who meditate on the Word until it is 'baked in the oven of the heart'.
Illustration: Israel in the wilderness: quail delivered by the Holy Spirit's own 'global positioning system', manna like wafers with honey, water from the rock, and shoes that grew with the children for forty years, so that the boy who wore size two at two years old was dancing at his wedding in the same shoes.
“Supernatural means it's God's super over your natural.”

Refuse to operate in fear
Worrying about how you will make it is a sure sign of a spirit of fear, but God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind, so do not confess a poor memory or say you are afraid. A fear-based prayer will not bring a manifestation, because the thing you fear comes upon you. Prayer is your intimacy with God and he prays constantly, but work on your believing, because everything you want on the outside you first create on the inside.
“You can pray a fear-based prayer that will not bring you a manifestation.”
- 2 Timothy 1:7
- Job 3:25
You are already anointed
Many believers wait in an 'upper room' for what they already have, which he calls ignorance rather than devotion. Just as God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power, put your own name in that verse and stop wanting to be anointed. Jesus did not say 'pray for the sick' but 'heal the sick', because healing has already been provided; small adjustments in thinking, like the little foxes, decide whether you see the manifestation. The Word in you is alive and grows like a seed of life.
Illustration: He calls two men forward and, without praying 'Lord, anoint them', simply looks at them and the anointing comes on them.
“It is small adjustments in your thinking that will either bring you a manifestation or take it away from you.”
- Acts 10:38
- Song of Solomon 2:15
- Matthew 10:8
- Hebrews 4:12
Stay teachable: you are an object of God's love
Changing means admitting that what you learned before was incomplete or wrong, so remain teachable; your pastor is your coach to take you from a low life to a high life. God protected Abraham even after he lied to Abimelech, so how much more does He protect those who are in Christ? You are the object of His love, all things are yours, and in the new covenant they come according to your faith.
Illustration: God told Abimelech that if he touched Sarah he was a dead man; he imagines God saying of a believer today, 'You touch this guy, you are fried meat.'
“In the old covenant, it was according to your obedience. Now, it's according to your faith.”

- John 3:16

- Deuteronomy 28:7

- Matthew 9:29
Putting it into practice
- Do the natural things well: budget, plan and avoid heavy credit.
- Start trusting God for small things so that your faith can grow.
- Replace fearful words and fear-based prayers with faith declarations.
- Meditate on the Word until it is alive in you, then speak it.
- Stop begging to be anointed; act as someone who already is.
Closing
He prophesies that the anointing for supernatural increase and multiplication is on them, that nothing will be too big for them and that some debts and repayments will be cancelled. He teaches that your prosperity is linked to receiving the word of your man of God, releases the anointing over the church, and says that perhaps the message should be retitled 'the God kind of faith'. He ends by telling them God loves them 'too much' and that they are vital to the church, then gives details for the business breakfast.
Declarations he led
- I refuse to fear.
- I'm not ordinary. I'm born again. Anointed of God. I'm full of the Holy Ghost.
- God loves me too much.
In his words
- “If you don't trust me for the small things, how are you going to trust me for the big things?”
- “You are not normal people. You are the sons of God.”
- “If you want to change the outside, change the inside.”
- “Your pastor is your coach. I'm not here to have coffee and biscuits with you.”
- “In the old covenant, it was according to your obedience. Now, it's according to your faith.”
