Free Favours Abounding Profusely: The Kingdom and the Anointing

Dr RJ Sing, 53 min

Originally recorded as “The Kingdom of God and the Anointing”

Sermon outline

Jesus was anointed to bring the good news of the kingdom, salvation and the free favours of God abounding profusely, and you live in that kingdom by standing on the Word and calling yourself into what God says you are.

Main text

  • Luke 4:18-21

Opening

He stirs the church to shout, saying that when the saints of God shout, darkness flees, and after a song he teaches that joy, like faith, is a force. Then he turns to Luke 4 in the Amplified Bible to speak 'briefly this morning about the relationship of the kingdom of God and the anointing'.

  1. Anointed to preach good news

Jesus declared He was anointed to preach the gospel, the good news of the kingdom of God, never bad news. To the poor the good news is that you don't have to be poor anymore; to captives, release from the enemy's chains; to the blind, spiritual and physical sight; and to the downtrodden, bruised and broken by calamity, deliverance.

“He didn't say I'm anointed to preach bad news.”

    • Luke 4:18
    • Isaiah 61:1-2
  2. Salvation and the free favours of God

Jesus proclaimed the acceptable year of the Lord, which the Amplified Bible renders as the day when salvation and the free favours of God profusely abound. Salvation is not only going to heaven; it means deliverance, preservation, wholeness, soundness, protection and health in every area of life, and on top of that God lavishes His free favours on those who function in the kingdom.

“It's not just the favor of the Lord. It's the free favor of God lavished on you.”

    • Luke 4:19
  3. Grab hold of it and run away with it

Some people sit in church for years and watch others testify while little happens for them, because their heart has not yet grasped the message. Keep listening until it grows in your heart. Revelation means grabbing hold of the Word and running away with it, saying 'it's mine'.

“Not just grab a hold of it but grab a hold of it and run away.”

  4. Free favours abounding profusely

Like a witness's statement that someone was bleeding profusely, God's favour can gush over you until you say 'Lord, it's too much'. Success is a level, and you can grow from one level to the next: promotions arriving before you've settled in the last one, contracts coming from every side so you must employ staff, more furniture than you have room for.

Illustration: The legal term for an injury: 'he began to bleed profusely', meaning gushing out.

    “See, success is a level.”

  5. Your spirit man is in charge

You are spirit, soul and body, in that order: the recreated spirit is in charge, the body is just a bag of flesh and bones, and the soul is the mind, which must be renewed with the Word. Feed the spirit man spirit food, the Word of God, and weak faith becomes great faith. The Word is the operating system of the kingdom, while most people's problems come from thinking the world's thoughts.

Illustration: A whole lamb at the butcher looks beautiful, but once it is cut up and thrown in a bag it is just a bag of bones and meat; that is your body.

“Your recreated spirit is in charge of life.”

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:23
    • Romans 12:2
  6. Stand on the Word and call yourself up

A revelation he received that morning, acted out with a man named Mark: you can stand at the foot of the mountain looking up at where you want to be, or you can stand on the mountaintop where the Word says you are, seated with Christ, and call your natural self to come. Refuse to acknowledge the one room or the low-paying job; keep calling, deep unto deep, because anything called by the Word of God must respond.

Illustration: He stands Mark at one spot as 'me in the physical' and himself at another as 'me in the spirit', and calls him step by step in the name of Jesus while Mark stumbles and doubts.

“Anything called by the word of God must respond.”

    • Ephesians 2:6
    • Psalm 42:7
  7. The kingdom of God is God's authority, power and anointing

Jesus closed the book and said 'today this scripture is fulfilled'. The kingdom of God is the rule of God: His authority, His power and His anointing on your life, so that wherever you go, they show up. When Jesus said 'peace, be still', immediately they were on the other side: change your position, refuse to be called what the government or other people call you, and call yourself what the Word says you are.

Illustration: A drunkard dragged from the drain into church: before long his language, his thinking, his clothes and his pocket change, because he learns who he is.

“Wherever you go, authority shows up. Power shows up. Anointing shows up.”

    • Luke 4:20-21
    • Mark 4:39
    • Genesis 1:26

Putting it into practice

  • Keep hearing the Word until your heart grasps it, then grab hold of it as your own.
  • Feed your spirit man the Word daily and renew your mind.
  • Stand where the Word says you are and call yourself forward.
  • Change your position: stop speaking from the foot of the mountain.
  • Call yourself what the Word of God says you are.

Closing

He has the church stand and tell each other to change their position and their location, then leads them in declaring who they are in Christ and prophesying over their futures and finances. He says he will pick up the teaching on the kingdom the following week, and the recording ends during the closing song.

Declarations he led

  • Something will happen. Faith's going to grow in my heart. Because faith comes by hearing the word in Jesus' name.
  • I've got the joy of the Lord.
  • I'm a son of God. I'm a daughter of the Most High. It will be according to his word in my life. His word will raise me up. His word will empower me. His word will give me power. His word gives me authority. His word gives me anointing.
  • I will make solemn declarations. I will prophesy over my future. I prophesy over my finances.
  • I'm big. Made in the image and likeness of God.
  • I speak my way forward. I think my way forward. My hands anointed, my feet are anointed. Look at me now, I'm a success. I'm going somewhere.

In his words

  • “When the saints of God shout, something happens in the atmosphere.”
  • “Faith is a force. And joy is a force.”
  • “It's not just the favor of the Lord. It's the free favor of God lavished on you.”
  • “Success is a level.”
  • “Anything called by the word of God must respond.”
