God Is Holy
Dr RJ Sing
“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory”
In a vision, the Prophet of Isaiah saw God sitting on His throne. Around this throne were seraphs, each with six wings, and they called out to one another, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty”. God is so holy that the creatures dared not look at Him. They had to cover their faces with their wings. When he saw this vision, Isaiah was convicted of his own sinfulness. “Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips,” he cried out (v.5). Then one of the seraphs touched his lips with a live coal and assured him that his sins were atoned for.
God is completely without sin and for this reason He does not tolerate sin, but punishes it with death. All people are sinful from the day they are born. Therefore, you can never come before the Holy God in your own strength. But Jesus, through His crucifixion, made it possible for you to approach God.
On the cross, He settled your debt of sin in full. God will forgive your sins, because of His Son’s death on the cross. Jesus’ blood cleanses you from all sin. Because God is holy, He expects His children to be holy as well. “Be holy, because I am holy,” (1 Pet 1:16). If you truly love God, the Holy Spirit will help you to lead a holy life. Ask God for His help in this area of your life. He will gladly help you.
