You Are the Blessed of the Lord

Dr RJ Sing

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”
Ephesians 1:3

Abraham bestowed his blessing upon Isaac. The blessing was the very source of everything he owned (Genesis 25:5-11). Many times we see the fruit of the blessing and think it is the blessing itself. However, the blessing is not material things. The blessing is the root to physical wealth. God made requests of Isaac, just as He had done with Abraham, so that Isaac, too, could prove his commitment to obey God. (Genesis 26:1-14)

Isaac was placed in some of the same situations his father Abraham faced. God told Isaac that He would be with him. God’s presence with us is the definition of true prosperity (Genesis 26:3). We must be willing to obey God, despite what is going on around us. Obedience gives birth to the blessing. When we keep God’s commandments, statutes and laws, we are blessed. Like Isaac, when we obey God, the fruit of the blessing will be apparent in our lives. Isaac sowed in the land in the midst of a famine. As a result, he received a hundredfold return that same year.
