The Word of God Is Important
Dr RJ Sing
“I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”
When you are alone, engaging with the Lord and His Word, you will discover that you can clearly hear Him talking to you. Bible study should never be relegated to the scraps of time that are left after a busy day. It is so important for your Spiritual growth that it is essential for you to set aside a specific time and place for it.
Diarize your time for Bible study. It is your most important appointment of the day. You cannot only listen to God’s voice when it suits you. He is the most important person in your life and He asks of you to find time for Him.
He wants to reveal the treasures hidden in His Word to you personally. (See 2 Timothy 2:15). Through regular Bible Study you also get to know yourself better. God’s Word is a mirror in which your sins are reflected as well as a light that shows you how you should live. You should never do Bible Study simply out of a sense of duty; it should always be spontaneous communication with God. If you open your Bible every day with expectancy, you will grow spiritually and become stronger. Then God will help you to apply the wisdom which you derive from His Word constructively in your own life.
