Faith for Finances (Part 2)

Dr RJ Sing

“Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee”
Matthew 17:27

The meaning of Abundance: Abundance means that God supplies all we need, with something to spare for others. When Peter needed money at short notice to pay taxes, Jesus did not tell him to go and ask Judas for money. Instead, He sent Him to the Sea of Galilee to collect it from a fish’s mouth. This raises an interesting question which would be better to go to the bank and cash a cheque or to go to the sea and cast in a hook?

Certainly the latter would be much more interesting and exciting! On another occasion, Jesus found himself surrounded by a crowd of perhaps twelve thousand hungry people. We know that there were 5000 men and this figure does not include women and children. Accepting the 5 loaves and 2 fishes from a boy, Jesus gave thanks for them to His Father. As a result, He was able to feed the whole crowd. Then, there were twelve large baskets left over (See John 6:6-13) that is Abundance! It is also a demonstration of supernatural effects, of thanking God in Faith for our Food! So begin to change your level of operation from Insufficiency to Sufficiency then onto Abundance.
