Principles for Giving No.12 (Part 2)

Dr RJ Sing

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise.”
Luke 10:36-37

We continue our discussion of this Parable. Here we see the Samaritan did not leave the man there in a helpless condition to fend for himself. He took responsibility for the man and his debt. He gave of himself, his time, his love and energy, as well as his money. This Samaritan practiced compassionate, unlimited, liberal giving.

Too often our giving is limited, conditional, selective, based upon who we know and what we will receive in return. Let us now look at the following Scripture: “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth” (1 John 3:17-18 NIV)

This is the time for Financial Breakthrough! Ask God to reveal the areas where you have failed to follow His example of unlimited, liberal giving. Do not withhold from God, or from giving liberally to those in need, while it is in your ability to give. Remember, it is the unlimited, liberal giving which will be rewarded.
