God Is Your Defense

“O my Strength, I will watch and give heed to You and sing praises; for God is my Defense (my Protector and High Tower).”
The Lord is your defense and High Tower. When one considers the meaning of defense, we find the following: Armament, cover, guard, immunity, protection, safeguard, security, shelter, barricade, bulwark, fortification, shield and so on. This is what God is to you as your Heavenly Father. “He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.” Psalm 62:2.
The Lord is your fortification. That is just too wonderful to comprehend. No matter what the situation, the Lord is your defense. He takes pleasure in protecting you and keeping you from all harm and danger. Let us consider the following Scriptures:
“The name of the LORD [is] a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
