The Deeper Christian Life

Dr RJ Sing

“For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are.”
Hebrews 4:12

The Word is God speaking to you. “Thus saith Jehovah” is repeated over two thousand times from Exodus and Deuteronomy that tells you that, God and His Word are one. The Word is our contact with God our Father and it is His contact with us. (see John 16:7-10) We are convicted by the Word. This conviction can come from no other source than the Word and it is a threefold conviction. First, He convicts us of our union with satan: “Of judgement, because the prince of this world is judged,” that the natural man is judged in satan, is a child of satan. (John 8:44-45; 1 John 3:10)

Second, He convicts of Righteousness, showing that although we are children of the devil, righteousness is available and belongs to us. Thirdly, He convicts of sin because we believe not on Him and there is only one sin for which the sinner will be judged, that is the rejection of Jesus Christ.

James 1:18 AMP “And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].” The Word imparts to us Eternal life. If it were not for the Word, we would not know that there was a redemption or a substitution or a new Creation.
