The Power of Christ in You
Dr RJ Sing
“Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] Let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.”
In 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, we read something of interest concerning a problem that Paul was dealing with: “Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
The real need at oftentimes is not the elimination of the trial, but the Grace to Endure it. Romans 8:18 AMP “[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!”
We can joyfully endure suffering in the present because of the glorious future that is promised to us. We need to ask ourselves today – do our trials make us bitter or better?
