God Has Chosen You – Part 2
Dr RJ Sing
“And let them also be tried and investigated and proved first; then, if they turn out to be above reproach, let them serve [as deacons]”
We have discussed how that God has chosen you. Firstly, you are to be proven faithful first. Then, we now look at the second qualification.
2. Be the Husband of One wife: Basically, that means you are to be a one-woman man or a one-man woman. The message Bible says, ‘Servants in the church are to be committed to their spouses and to their children.
3. Have your financial affairs in order: This is speaking of having a good reputation with people. It simply means that you are not known around town for never paying your bills. The message Bible says in first Timothy 3:7 that outsiders are to think well of you.
4. Be above Reproach: That means you should be a person of integrity. You represent your church and more importantly, you represent the Lord. The Bible further warns us to avoid the appearance of evil. (1Thessalonians 5:22) This should be our goal at all times. We must be good examples for the Lord as His representatives.
