I Love Life and Seek Peace
Dr RJ Sing
“If you want a happy, good life, keep control of your tongue, and guard your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Try to live in peace even if you must run after it to catch and hold it!”
You are to live in harmony with your brothers and sisters in Christ. To enjoy a peaceful and satisfied life, you are to remain courteous and respectful to others around you. If you desire a long satisfied life, you are to keep your tongue from evil:
“Do you want a long, good life? 13 Then watch your tongue! Keep your lips from lying. 14 Turn from all known sin and spend your time in doing good. Try to live in peace with everyone; work hard at it. 15 For the eyes of the Lord are intently watching all who live good lives, and he gives attention when they cry to him. 16 But the Lord has made up his mind to wipe out even the memory of evil men from the earth.”
Choose to live the God-Kind of life. Make an unyielding decision to keep your tongue from speaking evil things. Let us consider a verse of Scripture in the Book of James: “Anyone who says he is a Christian but doesn't control his sharp tongue is just fooling himself, and his religion isn't worth much.” James 1:26.
As you focus your attention firmly on doing good, you will have peace all around you. Seek peace as a relentless hunter and capture it as a precious prize. This peace will guide you in all of your affairs.
