The Body of Christ

Dr RJ Sing

“For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.”
(1 Corinthians 12:13 – AMP)

When Christians get together, this group then is the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 “Now here is what I am trying to say: All of you together are the one body of Christ, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.” This is an intimate and vital relationship that makes us one. This is a spirit relationship and we must not forget that. Hebrews 10:25 “Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.”

As we gather, we come together in Christ. We are together in the Holy Spirit. That is why it is of vital importance for a spirit filled Christian not to miss church meetings. We must assemble together constantly and consistently. What happens when the church (body of Believers) come together in a place? (See 1 Corinthians 14:26), (See 1 Thessalonians 4:18)

This is what can be referred to as congregational worship. Here the whole body is inspired, full of the Holy Spirit and yielded to Him full to His operation.
