Seasoned with Salt

“Let your conversation be gracious as well as sensible, for then you will have the right answer for everyone.”
When one examines the properties of salt we find three very interesting properties. Firstly salt stings, secondly it heals and thirdly, it preserves. In the same way, your words by the Spirit are filled with Grace. Yet these same words cut to the heart and bring preservation.
We must make every effort to be salty in this life. God’s Word in our mouth has inherent Power. It will accomplish things in our life and will prosper. God’s Word will not return void. We must watch and ensure that our lives are salty.
The Words of Jesus was straight forward and salty. To the religious hypocrites He said, “Woe to you … hypocrites! For you are like white washed tombs.” (Matthew 23:27).
To others He said, “You are deceived; you have the idea that you are children of Abraham, but you are the children of the devil, and you do his works.” (John 8:39, 44)
His mouth was full of meekness and gentleness and yet so salty because of their corruption. You are seasoned with salt. Use that salt dear child of God to distribute healing and preservation.
