The Blessing of the Lord – Part 1

Dr RJ Sing

“The blessing of the Lord it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].”
(Proverbs 10:22 – AMP)

The blessing of the Lord makes us truly rich-not just in finances, but in every way. However, in order to abide in the blessing, we must obey God. We prove our faithfulness to Him by doing what He has commanded us to do in His Word. Obedience gives birth to the blessing. God’s blessing will cause us to have supernatural increase in every area of life. As a result, everything and everyone connected to us will be blessed (Genesis 13:1-11) For example, Lot (Abram’s nephew) prospered because he was with Abram, whom God had blessed. Abram and Lot were so rich in material possessions that strife broke out amongst their herdsmen.

Abram resolved the issue because he knew strife would block the blessing. Abram continued to abide in the blessing because he obeyed God, but Lot disconnected from the blessing by disconnecting from Abram. Lot moved to a wicked city, in which he experienced great turmoil. He lost his wife and possessions. We must know where and to whom God has connected us. Wherever God directs us is where we will find our blessing. When we separate from the place or the people to whom God has connected us, we separate from His blessing.
