Offense Is a Trap – Part 2

Dr RJ Sing

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop.”
(Mark 11:25 – AMP)

Offense is a trap that the devil uses as bait to cause you to stumble and fall. Someone in your church may have done something to you or said something about you that caused you to be offended.

You may feel hurt or misunderstood, or you may feel resentful and angry toward that person. But no matter how you feel, you will fall into the trap that the devil has set for you, if you don’t make the decision to let the offense go.

If you allow yourself to focus on an offense that you have suffered, it can become a trap that distracts you from doing what God wants you to do. It can cause you to leave the church that God has told you to attend.

But God has made a way in His Word for you to overcome offenses. God tells us to forgive, those who have offended us, and let it go. You see forgiveness is a decision not a feeling. We must choose to forgive by Faith the same way we receive any of God’s Blessings.
