Kings Over Princes: Taking Authority Over Your Territory

Dr RJ Sing, 1 hr 19 min

Originally preached as “Giving Your Seed, Part 2”

Sermon outline

The devil is only a prince of the power of the air, but Christ has made believers kings, so they can take charge of their territory, their health and their finances instead of begging.

Main text

  • Isaiah 49:7-13
  • Ephesians 6:12
  • Ephesians 2:2
  • Revelation 1:5-6

Opening

He says this is part two of his message on giving your seed a specific assignment, and urges those who missed part one to buy the CD, because every message builds on the last one like blocks in a wall and the Holy Spirit can only bring to remembrance what has gone in. He explains that God gave him a fresh revelation that afternoon, which he will add to the seed message before finishing on Sunday.

  1. You are chosen and preserved to make desolate places fruitful

God has chosen you and will preserve you, so your shelf life cannot expire. He gives you as a covenant to restore the earth and to say to prisoners, 'Go forth.' No place or people group is too barren or too dark, because desolate places become fruitful at your word.

Illustration: Preservatives keep food from going stale; God says He will preserve you.

    “No place is too barren.”

    • Isaiah 49:7-13
  2. You are a representation of heaven on earth, so guard your gates

As ambassadors of Christ made in God's image, believers' words and prayers in tongues rearrange things in the spirit, so walk like a king, not with a beggar's posture. Don't let one relative's remark or one colleague's dislike depress you for months. Guard your eye gate, ear gate and mouth gate, because what goes into the heart comes out of the mouth.

Illustration: You cannot hack down an oak tree with a butter knife, even a thousand of them. One cockroach, gecko or mosquito does not drive you out of your home, and some people have 'elephant ears' in the spirit, open to gossip but not to good news.

“You are not a garbage can.”

    • 2 Corinthians 5:20
    • Genesis 1:26
    • Matthew 12:34
  3. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood: test the source

Our fight is not with people but with principalities and powers. When Jesus said 'Get thee behind me, Satan' to Peter, Satan was the source of Peter's words, so ask whether what you hear is spoken in love and bears the fruit of the Spirit. Words that stir strife, confusion or division are not of God.

Illustration: Someone recently brought him a bad report about another person, and the Lord told him it was spoken in a spirit of dissension, not love, and was not his business.

“Just as quick as the Spirit of God can speak through someone, Satan can also talk.”

    • Ephesians 6:10-17
    • Matthew 16:23
    • Galatians 5:22-23
  4. The revelation: a king commands a prince

Isaiah says princes will bow; Ephesians says we wrestle against principalities and that the devil is the prince of the power of the air. Revelation says Christ has made us kings and priests. If we were princes we would be equals, but a king commands and sends a prince, so the believer is in charge.

Illustration: He stands Nathan in front of the church as the 'prince of the power of the air' and has him kneel before the king.

“If I'm a king and he's a prince, you got that, because a king commands a prince.”

    • Isaiah 49:7
    • Ephesians 6:12
    • Ephesians 2:1-2
    • Revelation 1:4-6
  5. Take charge of your territory

The devil is in charge only where there is no king, or where a king does not know his rights. Wherever you set your feet, in a campus, school or company, you can dethrone him and take control. It is fine to start small, but don't stay small, and move up to the next level of authority.

Illustration: Standing in his office that afternoon, he claimed Greenwood Park, Redhill, Durban North, Umhlanga and the whole of KwaZulu-Natal. When there is a riot, the authorities simply send in the police and the army.

“Any place you put your feet, the land is yours.”

    • Romans 6:13
    • Zechariah 4:10
    • Job 8:7
  6. When the king arrives, the prince must bow

He ministers healing to demonstrate the teaching: the spirit behind an infirmity is a prince and must go when a king arrives. Sometimes a word is not even needed, but you must be led by the Spirit. He once tried to reach God through intellect and failed, and had to learn to walk the steps of the spiritual man.

Illustration: A man who had heard faintly in one ear for more than five years after an operation was healed without a prayer or command. Years ago a demon-possessed Hindu woman fell and was delivered when he simply looked at her, then removed her string and said 'Jesus is Lord.'

“That thing is a prince. I'm a king. So it must go.”

  7. A king does not beg: give your seed an assignment

Returning to the seed message, he tells the church to refuse to beg and dominate lack and poverty. He no longer cries for money; his morning prayer and confession is that money and contracts come to him from every direction.

Illustration: He used to cry for money; now he doesn't.

“A king does not beg for money.”

Putting it into practice

  • Catch up on any message you missed, because each one builds on the last.
  • Guard what you see, hear and say, and refuse to be a dumping ground for gossip.
  • Test every word by its source and its fruit.
  • On the way home, claim your area, campus or workplace for God.
  • Stop begging; confess each morning that money and contracts come to you.

Closing

He calls the cell leaders forward and imparts authority to cast out devils, heal the sick and grow, prophesying an end to the struggle for church growth and financial explosion for the business people. Recalling Elijah's brook drying up, he warns never to get comfortable but to stay hungry for God, then blesses the church and closes with the grace and Psalm 23:6.

Declarations he led

  • Speak Holy Spirit. I'm listening.
  • I'm chosen.
  • I'm big. I'm too big.
  • I refuse. From today. To beg.
  • I'm blessed. Money comes to me.
  • Money comes to me from the east, west, north and south. Contracts come to me.

In his words

  • “Your shelf life cannot expire.”
  • “You cannot take a small butter knife and try to hack down an oak tree.”
  • “You are not a garbage can.”
  • “A king commands a prince.”
  • “A king does not beg for money.”
