Sermon outline
To believers quietly asking God who, when, where and how, His word is that He has not forgotten them, will hasten His word in His own perfect time, gives them victory wherever they set their feet, and will do it not by might nor by power but by His Spirit.
Main text
- Isaiah 60:22
- Jeremiah 1:12
- Zechariah 4:6
Opening
He prays that the Word will go out unhindered, then calls Pastor Adrian and the worship team back up because he has words of prophecy before preaching, and says he doesn't know if he will get to the sermon. God is always looking for receivers: when a word is for you, stand up, receive it and 'trap' it with a seed. He has learned what works and then worked what works, because there is divinity in humanity when the Spirit speaks through a man.
To the elderly and the weary: you will not be forgotten
He calls those over 60 who feel their time is gone, and the weary who wonder if they can finish the race, to stand. The word is that God formed them to serve Him, has redeemed, supplied, blessed and protected them, and will complete the good work He began. They will be fruitful even in their latter years, their families will be as a completed circle around His throne, and God will not forget their labour of love.
“I know no age level, my grace is for all ages.”
- Isaiah 44:21
- Philippians 1:6
- Malachi 3:17
- Hebrews 6:10
Who, Lord, who?
To those unsure who will stand by them and help them to the next level, the word is that they will be satisfied with favour. The beloved of the Lord dwell in safety; He makes a distinction between those who serve Him and those who resist Him, and His people will not stumble in darkness. Disasters will not shake His beloved, because His seal is on their lives and He will show them who and how.
“My beloved ones are hidden in the palm of my hands and I keep them safe.”
- Deuteronomy 33:23
- Deuteronomy 33:12
- Proverbs 18:10
- Daniel 11:32
- John 8:12
- Ephesians 4:30
- Isaiah 49:16
- Psalm 58:11
Praise breaks chains and brings down walls
Between the words he leads the church in worship and tells them that when they sing, dance and make a prophetic sound, the darkness trying to flood their lives moves away. The enemy has been building walls around them, around him and around the church, but as at Jericho, the walls will fall, especially for those whose promotion at work seems stuck.
“When you sing and dance and make a prophetic sound to the Lord, chains begin to break.”
- Joshua 6:20
When, Lord, when?
Walking with God is a long walk that turns into decades, and words given years ago were for then but would manifest in the future. Many look strong outside while crumbling inside, asking when. The word is that God will hasten it in His time; they have tried to speed up the process and become frustrated, but His ways are higher, and His time will be exactly on time.
Illustration: He tells the church he wrote these words down as God gave them in prayer, and that he too had to trap his word with a seed.
“I will hasten my word to perform it.”
- Isaiah 60:22
- Isaiah 55:8
- Proverbs 28:1
- Jeremiah 1:12
Resist the devil like you mean it
As the church praises, he says they have resisted the devil together, and the Bible says when we resist him he will flee.
Illustration: Telling a dog 'go' half-heartedly does nothing; stamp your feet and say it like you mean it and it runs. We must treat the devil the same way.
“It's almost the same way we have to treat the devil.”
- James 4:7
Where, Lord, where?
To those wondering where their victory will be, the word is that God is with them wherever they go. His followers all over the earth are putting on His armour, treading on serpents and scorpions and forcing demons into submission, because He has made them more than conquerors. Victory can be had in any place by using His name, His blood, His Word and His Spirit, even in their own homes.
Illustration: Elijah moved only when God told him to, and each time God provided: a raven at the brook, then a widow at Zarephath.
“Never make a geographical relocation until or unless God says so.”
- Joshua 1:9
- Romans 16:20
- Ephesians 6:15
- Luke 10:19
- Romans 8:37
- Joshua 1:3
- 1 Kings 17:2-9
Your time has come: someone is whispering your name
People may have forgotten or overlooked you, even at work, but the Holy Spirit is causing someone to speak about you, and your promotion and elevation are coming. Stop trying to push your own name; be still, and God will promote you when the time comes. Your hard work, giving and prayers have not been forgotten.
“You have not been forgotten, saith the Lord.”
- Psalm 46:10
How, Lord, how?
To those who look at their money, resources and circumstances and ask how their dreams can come to pass, the answer is: not by might nor by power but by His Spirit. They have leaned on their own understanding, strength, wisdom and words, but now His Spirit of wisdom will rest on them and His words in their mouths will open gates. His strength is made perfect in weakness, and no weapon formed against them will prosper.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord.”
- Zechariah 4:6
- Proverbs 3:5
- 2 Corinthians 12:9
- Ephesians 6:10
- Isaiah 54:17
- Psalm 68:1
Unusual miracles and an anointing of ease
As people come forward he says many are being healed, and he sees restoration, repentance and new strength for the next season. There will be an anointing of ease to propel them forward, and the word he receives is unusual miracles, with many testimonies to follow.
“This altar call was a meeting with God almighty.”
I loose thee this day from the chains
His last word is that they have been bound long enough. God's words liberate: from chains on the soul, on the mind that kept them from the mind of Christ, on the voice, on the heart, and on the purse that kept them in poverty, because poverty is not of God and wealth and health come from Him.
“My words liberate, saith the Lord.”
- Jeremiah 40:4
- John 8:32
- 1 Corinthians 2:16
Prophetic words change atmospheres
God uses words spoken by men and women by His Spirit to break barrenness and drought, because He has chosen to work on earth through His church. The enemy tries to silence our voices, but when boldness comes and we speak, there is a shaking. It is the spiritual atmosphere that changes natural things. He speaks a word over the musicians who labour week after week and pronounces houses sold, rented and bought.
“It is the spiritual atmosphere that changes natural things.”
Putting it into practice
- When a word is for you, stand up and receive it.
- Stop trying to speed up God's process; trust His timing.
- Resist the devil firmly and keep praising.
- Don't relocate unless God tells you to.
- Lean on His Spirit, not your own understanding or strength.
Closing
He reflects that prophetic words change atmospheres and that God works through His people, then speaks a word over the worship team and pronounces houses sold, rented and bought. He says he will now give the announcements and the blessing, and the broadcast cuts to the hosts.
