Sermon outline
God has not changed: He is still the Lord who heals, so when every human effort has reached its end, look to Jesus as your healer and release your faith.
Main text
- Exodus 15:26
- 1 Peter 2:24
- Psalm 103:3
Opening
After a short montage of him preaching, he greets viewers from the studio: "Hi, I'm Pastor Roshan Sing from Faith Centre International here in Durban, South Africa." He says he wants to share a scripture briefly and reads Exodus 15:26, which ends, "I am the Lord that healeth thee."
God is a healing God
Three scriptures lay the foundation. In Exodus 15:26 God names Himself the Lord who heals. 1 Peter 2:24 says Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree, and by His stripes we were healed. Psalm 103:3 says He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. He wants viewers to get this into their mind and their spirit.
“God is indeed a God that heals you.”
- Exodus 15:26
- 1 Peter 2:24
- Psalm 103:3
When the doctors have done their best, God is still a miracle worker
He speaks to viewers who have been diagnosed with a dreaded or incurable disease. He thanks God for doctors and for the nurses who help the sick, but says they sometimes reach the point of saying they can do nothing more. For the person in that desperate position there is still courage and hope in the word of God. He says he has seen hundreds of miracles with his own eyes.
“We thank God for the doctors. We thank God for all of the wonderful nurses out there that help people that are sick.”
Look to Jesus as your Lord and your healer
When the fiery serpents bit the Israelites, God told Moses to put a brazen serpent on a pole, and those who looked at it were healed. That still holds true, except that under the new covenant it is not a serpent on a pole but Jesus Christ on a cross. You have looked to Him as Lord and Saviour. Now look to Him as Lord and healer, for the completion of the manifestation you need.

“Look to the Lord because he's your healer.”
- Numbers 21:6-9
From the live services: the one who came back to say thank you
The programme cuts to clips from live services. A man he had prayed for the previous week comes back on the prayer line simply to thank him, and he likens him to the one leper out of ten who returned and was made whole. He prays for a 75-year-old man with arthritis in both legs, who then walks without his cane, and the man's son tells how he was healed in the church a year before and has regained his strength and weight. He says he would like to give a whole Sunday to testimonies.
Illustration: The son says he has gone from a size 30 to a size 44 and now has a problem: he has to buy new clothes. "Leave some food for your father too," he jokes.
“One Sunday we must just let the people give testimonies.”
- Luke 17:11-19
- Mark 16:18
He has not changed: release your faith
Back in the studio he reads Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6. If God healed in the past, He heals today. He asks viewers to touch the television screen or point a hand towards him as a point of contact, he releasing his faith and they theirs, and then prays. He tells them to put action to their faith, and that Jesus took our diseases on the cross so that we do not have to carry them.
“If God healed in the past, he heals today.”
- Hebrews 13:8
- Malachi 3:6
Putting it into practice
- Take courage in the word of God, whatever the diagnosis.
- Look to Jesus as your healer as well as your Saviour.
- Release your faith with a point of contact, and put action to it.
- Write in with your testimony.
Closing
He takes authority over sickness and prays for viewers, naming conditions he senses God healing as he prays: migraine, heart trouble, diabetes, high blood pressure, children with eczema and a woman who has had a stroke. He tells Christians and non-Christians alike that God loves them, invites viewers to send in their testimonies and to partner with the broadcast, and signs off with a blessing: "Jesus loves you very much and I love you too."
