Dancing in the Spirit
Pastor Zubeda Sing
“Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.”
Dancing before the Lord is also a most Holy practice. The Word of God also instructs us to praise Him with the timbrel and dance. *Psalms 150:4, “Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.” And again we have an example of David dancing before the Lord with all his might. 2 Samuel 6:14, “And David danced before the LORD with all [his] might; and David [was] girded with a linen ephod.”*
Michal his wife despised him and made fun of David because he danced before the Lord. Let us examine David’s response to the situation. He made no apology but answered that he did so before the Lord. God punished Michal for her attitude towards David. *2 Samuel 6:23, “Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.” Dancing before the Lord is most Holy
*Psalm 81:1-3, “To the chief Musician upon Gittith, [A Psalm] of Asaph.> Sing aloud unto God our strength. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.” Here again we see that the Bible instructs us to sing aloud and to make a joyful noise unto Him. As you gather for worship and praise, begin to participate, as this is what God expects of you. As you do this, you become more and more anointed
