Giving is Seedtime
Dr RJ Sing
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
We are so familiar with this verse of Scripture that we have watered it down to traditional values. However, our God is not limited. He is the God of the overflow. He tells us that we can have lands and houses and he really wants that for us. However, He still wants us to let Him stay in control of our lives.
The first word in this passage is “give.” This is what we can refer to as “seedtime.” When seedtime comes into your life, God says, “give.” Giving is seedtime and every seed is a potential seed of the overflow. As you give which is seedtime, man will have no choice because God will charge them to give to you. For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again. 2 *Corinthians 9:6-7 says that, “But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”*
God loves a cheerful giver. The seedtime is God’s Way of dealing with the whole process of Biblical Economics. The Holy Spirit is producing something beautiful in your life and when He is finished, all those around you will wonder about you and your wealthy place. Let your seedtime be a cheerful time in your life. Never look at “seedtime” as a loss. Rather see “seedtime” as an investment into your future.
