Free from Contamination

The Breastplate of Righteousness, which is the spiritual armor God supplies, enables Christians to be strong in battle. It protects and gives us confidence and courage to withstand the attacks of the enemy. It brings you to a place, where you stand toe to toe with the enemy and not retreat. You can now resist Him and obtain Victory over all of His attacks. The ‘Breastplate of Righteousness’, refers to the Nature of the ‘New Man’ that is given to us when we are born again by the Spirit. The Apostle Paul told the Ephesians; “*And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:24

In the New Testament ‘Righteousness’ often stood up for the uprightness of those who are made right with God. The Greek word for holiness, “Hosiotes” is not the usual word used, but here in this verse means “Free from Contamination.” The New nature created within us by the Power of the Holy Spirit, makes it possible for us to be righteous. That is, to conform ourselves to God’s Divine will, in our thoughts, purposes and all actions. Therefore, you are empowered to live according to God’s Word and have total victory over sin.
