A God Who Hears
Dr RJ Sing
“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear”.”
In Isaiah 65, God renews His commitment to His people. In the New Jerusalem that He is preparing for them there will be no sorrow and death. The people will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labors. They will build houses and dwell in them, plant vineyards and eat their fruit. Everyone will experience unprecedented prosperity and abundance. God also promises to be so near to His children, that He will hear their prayers while they are still speaking.
God promises that he is near to listen to you and that He is a God who hears your prayers. God loves us so much that He always listens to His children. When we pray, He hears our prayers. In situations of distress, He is always willing to help. “In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my god for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears,” David testifies in Psalm 18:6. We can experience this too.
When His children call, God listens and answers. He longs to be gracious to us and He wants to show us compassion. The Prophet Isaiah promises, “You will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you” (Isa 30:19)
