Glorify God, the Creator

Dr RJ Sing

“Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee”
Nehemiah 9:6

When we read the story of creation in Genesis 1 and 2, we see the greatness of God in the process of creation. God created the world out of nothing – He spoke and the chaos and darkness disappeared; heaven and earth came into existence. During the first three days, God subdued the darkness, as well as the mass of water covering the earth.

During the last three days He created the sun, moon and stars to banish the darkness; the birds and marine animals to fill the air and water, as well as an to inhabit the earth. Man was the crowning glory of God’s creation. God instilled His own Divine characteristics in man when He created us in His image. The story of creation does not simply answer the question ‘where does everything come from?’

Creation marks the beginning of God’s interaction with the world. It is the proclamation of God’s ownership of the world. It is also the event through which God introduces Himself in all His Greatness and Goodness. When you see all the things God has made, remember to glorify Him for the wonder of His creation. That is why everyday should be a day of Praise to our Great Lord!
