God Is Able

Dr RJ Sing

“Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? 32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? 33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?”
Job 38:31-33

When we read scientific reports about the galaxies and the whole universe we realize how small we really are. It is only God who can determine their influence on our times, seasons and weather. Even with the most advanced cameras and telescopes, we can see only a small part of the universe.

Like God, the universe is far too big to be measured with our man-made instruments. The more we learn about the universe, the more we realize that man will never really be able to fathom it – not even with the best technology available to us.

When we realize this, we can only echo the words of the Prophet Isaiah, “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.” (Isaiah 40:26) and pray with the psalmist, “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.” (Psalms 8:1). Yet He takes the time to get involved in our lives in such an intimate way.
