Worship That Pleases God

Dr RJ Sing

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
Mark 12:30 (KJV)

God wants all of you: God doesn’t want a part of your life. He asks for all your heart, all your soul, your entire mind and all your strength. He is not interested in a halfhearted commitment, partial obedience and leftovers of your time and money. He desires your full devotion, not little bits of your life. There is a right and wrong way to worship.

The kind of worship that pleases God:

Accurate worship – It must be based on the truth of scripture, not our opinions about God (John 23:24) and to worship God as he is truly revealed in the bible. Authentic worship – Worship is your spirit responding to God’s Spirit. When Jesus said, Love God with all your heart and soul, he meant that worship must be genuine and heartfelt.

Thoughtful worship – You must engage your mind. I encourage you to read scripture in different translations and paraphrases; it will expand your expressions of worship. God wants our corporate worship gatherings to be thoughtful too. Practical worship – The Bible says, Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is a spiritual act of worship. He wants you to live for him.
