Principles for Giving No.11 (Part 2)
Dr RJ Sing
“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
God wants you to broaden the scope of your giving beyond your family, friends, and co-workers. In addition to giving your tithes and offerings, He wants you to give and minister to the needs of the poor, blind and lame who are unable to repay you.
This is the type of giving, Jesus said will be rewarded. He told the Pharisees, “…although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the Resurrection of the Righteous” (Verse 14 NIV). This begins to reveal the Nature of God and He wants us to practice this type of unlimited, liberal giving. Jesus also taught that we must also give to our enemies, to those who have hurt us, who have treated us badly, or spoken against us. When we learn to remove the limits from our giving, and give the way God gives.
Then Jesus said our reward will be great! It is this unlimited, liberal giving that Jesus said, would be multiplied back to you. God’s people should be the most giving, generous people upon the earth!
