When You Show Up, the Blessing Shows Up: The Principle of Wealth

Dr RJ Sing, 27 October 2019, 43 min, Part 5, continued of Secrets to Experiencing the Good Life

This is the whole service. The video opens where he begins, at 43:44.

Originally preached as “Secrets to Experiencing the Good Life: The Principle of Wealth, Part 2”

Sermon outline

It is God's will for you to be wealthy: He has plenty and multiplication on His mind and you carry His blessing as royalty, so take the limits off, see yourself in God's class, be a liberal blessing to others and never again confess lack.

Main text

  • Philippians 4:19
  • 3 John 2

Opening

He recaps the secrets of experiencing the good life: self-value, identity, desire and decision. He says he started the principle of wealth but did not finish it, having interrupted it the week before to speak on the integrity of God's Word, and reads Philippians 4:19 and 3 John 2. It is harder to unlearn traditional teaching that was not Word-based than to learn afresh, he says, but it is God's will for you to be wealthy, not so that you despise the poor but so that you can help others, because you can't help anybody if you need help yourself.

  1. There's plenty for you

God is not running short; He is a good, liberal, bountiful and limitless God who wants the best for you, your family and your children. If you are struggling now, winters must come to an end and your summer will come, so get your thinking right, then your confession, then your life. At creation God commanded the waters to bring forth abundantly, and Jesus came to give life more abundantly, so His followers are not beggars.

“If you get your thinking right, then you can get your confession right.”

    • Genesis 1:20
    • John 10:10
  2. God has multiplication on His mind

The economic figures, unemployment and overpopulation may look bad, but believers live in the economy of the kingdom of God. When Jesus gave thanks, the five loaves and two fish multiplied, so anything coming into your hands and anyone who comes under your influence must multiply. God will supply the customers and the contracts; He is looking for receivers who will reach out and believe Him.

Illustration: He noticed that an empty store would suddenly fill up after he walked in, and that once he changed his confession about parking, a car would reverse out of a bay just as he drove into a packed car park: the power of the blessing he carried, and that every believer carries.

“When you show up, the blessings show up.”

    • John 6:9-14
  3. A net-breaking experience

Jesus told the disciples to cast their net on the right side of the boat, and they could not haul it in for the number of fish. First you will have multiplication, then a net-breaking experience; his words are seeds and your heart is the good soil where they will grow. God lives in you, and no religious sermoniser should talk you out of His blessings, because no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

“If people want to know where God is, you give them your address.”

    • Psalm 84:11
    • John 21:6
    • Mark 4:20
  4. You are tapped into God's plenty

Nothing is impossible or too good for you and God together, and shortages exist only in the minds of unbelievers. You belong to a royal family, kings and priests to God, and lack, demons and circumstances must bow to the name of Jesus. When a storm arose while Jesus slept in the boat, He spoke peace to it, setting an example: at work, or before a boardroom meeting, you can quietly take authority and say, 'In Jesus' name, I'm in charge here.'

Illustration: As a demanding little boy he was nicknamed 'King Roshan' by an uncle, and he jokes that a young member of the family now calls himself a king too.

“Nothing will overtake you if you just realise who you are.”

    • Revelation 1:6
    • Philippians 2:10
    • Mark 4:35-41
    • Proverbs 28:1
  5. See yourself in God's class

Satan wants to limit you, so disengage him and take the limits off; you were not meant to be poor or inferior. We want to be blessed so that we can help the poor and give hope in the world we each touch, whether accounting, science, law or teaching. Don't be tight-fisted or a miser, because you can't keep seed in your pocket and seedtime and harvest will not cease; when people see you bless others, they see God in action.

Illustration: A modern car's speed limiter won't let you go faster however hard you press the accelerator until you disengage it. In Johannesburg he asked an elderly woman in a beauty shop what the biggest tip of her life had been, then gave her more than that, and the whole shop rejoiced with her. As a young man restaurant prices frightened him; now he sits in restaurants knowing God is his supplier, and often someone quietly pays his bill.

“Satan wants to limit you. Disengage him from your life.”

    • Mark 16:15
    • Genesis 8:22
    • Luke 9:3
  6. The Lord daily loads us with benefits

Those who seek and serve the Lord will lack no good thing; they are blessed coming in and going out. If we lay hands on children and vehicles to bless them, why not lay hands on your wallet or purse and speak to it? He then reads a string of scriptures on God's plenty, from the plentiful country of Jeremiah 2:7 to his favourite, 'The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich.'

Illustration: His son brought a new wallet for him to bless, and his wife says she has never run short of money since he blessed her purse.

“My wallet will never lack. My bank account shall never run dry.”

    • Psalm 68:19
    • Psalm 34:10
    • Deuteronomy 28:6
    • Jeremiah 2:7
    • Proverbs 3:10
    • Joel 2:26
    • 2 Chronicles 18:1
    • Ecclesiastes 5:19
    • Psalm 35:27
    • Genesis 13:2
    • Proverbs 10:22
    • Psalm 112:1-3
    • 2 Chronicles 20:20

Putting it into practice

  • Get your thinking right, then your confession.
  • Expect multiplication in whatever comes into your hands.
  • Quietly take authority over storms at work.
  • Be liberal: tip generously and bless the people in your world.
  • Bless your wallet and speak to your finances.

Closing

He leads a series of 'never again' confessions: never again confess lack of wisdom, worry, bondage, 'I can't', lack, fear, weakness, the supremacy of Satan or defeat, each answered with a scripture. He has the church confess that they are liberated by the Word and free from limitations, with their limiters off, and hands over to a minister.

Declarations he led

  • I'm not a beggar.
  • I will lack no good thing.
  • I'm blessed.
  • My wallet will never lack. My bank account shall never run dry. I will never lack in Jesus' name.
  • I'm liberated by the word of God. I'm free from limitations. My limiter's off.

In his words

  • “It is God's will for you to be wealthy.”
  • “You can't help anybody if you need help yourself.”
  • “When you show up, the blessings show up.”
  • “Your shortage days are over.”
  • “You can't keep seed in your pocket.”
