Ensured Financial Freedom
Dr RJ Sing
“But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
We need to be able to recognize financial bondage. For example, when you are shackled and bound by excessive debts that are overdue, and you have no way of paying them, your thoughts are dominated by schemes of how to get rich quickly. When you cannot supply your needs or those of your family, not living within your means, spending more than you earn, having sleepless nights thinking about money and when you are dishonest in financial matters.
What causes financial bondage? Not trusting God in our finances. Such as, excessive spending, buying on impulse, and misusing credit cards and cheques, misuse of finances and lack of planning for your finances. Trying to keep up with the neighbors, making unwise business decisions and getting involved in illegal deals. Lack of tithing – robbing God, spirit of ungratefulness and having a stingy attitude, having the wrong job and getting ahead of the Lord’s plan.
It is possible for anyone to achieve financial freedom if he sincerely follows and practices financial principles found in His Word. Some people can easily create wealth no matter where you put them, but others find it hard to realize that God, Who is the giver of wealth, will only entrust you with what is within your ability to handle. He expects you to take steps forward and enlarge your ability to handle finances.
