The Rewards of Submitting – Part 1

Dr RJ Sing

“You who are] household servants, be submissive to your masters with all [proper] respect, not only to those who are kind and considerate and reasonable, but also to those who are surly (overbearing, unjust, and crooked).”
(1 Peter 2:18 – AMP)

If you look up the word ‘harsh’ in the Greek, it actually means; Unreasonable Tyrant. There are times when you find yourself under a difficult leader who is hard to understand. He/she may have some weakness in the flesh that stands out to you.

This is now a real opportunity to walk in love. If you respond the way the Lord wants you to, with humility, Blessings will come your way. Just think about Hannah in the book of first Samuel, chapter one. This is a beautiful story of how Hannah submitted to a leader who was acting unreasonably. As a result of her submission, she received the desire of her heart.

Hannah loved the Lord with all her heart, but was never able to conceive children. All she wanted was to have a child, but it just wasn’t happening. She began to realize that God was the answer to this impossible situation. So, one day she went to church to pray. As a matter of fact, she was praying so intensely that her lips were moving but nothing was coming out.
