10 Reasons to Speak in Tongues – Part 1

Let us consider reasons why every believer should speak in Tongues.

Reason No. 1: The Word of God teaches it: Acts 2:4 “And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in languages they didn't know, for the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” (See Acts 10:46). Speaking in Tongues is an initial evidence or sign of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Reason No. 2: Speaking in Tongues makes us aware of The Holy Spirit’s Presence. As you take time to fellowship with God and speak in Tongues, you will be conscious of God’s Presence in your life.

Reason No. 3: It builds one’s faith as you speak in Tongues. Speaking in Tongues builds your faith and helps you trust God in your daily life. Even as you speak in tongues, faith is exercised in your life.

Reason No. 4: Speaking in Tongues keeps you free from the profane elements of the world. As you do this, you break the influence of ungodly things in the world that tries to contaminate you as a believer.

Reason No. 5: Speaking in Tongues builds you up spiritually. Jude 1:20
