The Clapping of Hands and Loud Shouting

Dr RJ Sing

“Come, everyone, and clap for joy! Shout triumphant praises to the Lord.”
(Psalms 47:1)

The world practices the clapping of hands, but in reality, it is a Holy practice. We should practice the clapping of hands during our singing, worship, praise, etc. in adoration and appreciation to our God. What a privilege and honour to clap our hands unashamedly to God.

Shouting aloud the praises of God is scriptural worship. Psalms 98:4, “That is why the earth breaks out in praise to God and sings for utter joy!” Psalms 47:1, “Come, everyone, and clap for joy! Shout triumphant praises to the Lord.”

You are not to hold back, Jesus warned us that should men hold their praise, the stones will immediately cry out. Luke 19:37 – 40 NIV “When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: 38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
