The Power of Words – Part 1

Dr RJ Sing

“For He who would love life And see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”
(1 Peter 3:10 – NKJV)

Words are very important to the New Creation being. Words will build or break down. Words put together make up sentences. Sentences put together make up a language. This New Creation man now has to speak the language of the Word of God. This is so very important. I want to illustrate to you the importance of words. Every word that you utter carries power. A power to destroy or to build. That is why, a New Creation being in Christ, cannot afford to speak “idle” words.

James 1:26 NKJV “If anyone among you thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.” Proverbs 15:4 NKJV “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” Psalms 141:3 NKJV “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.” Ephesians 4:29 NKJV “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”

So, in order to see good days, refrain your tongue from speaking evil and negative things. Be a seeker of peace and pursue it with all of your will. This way peace will surround you as a shield each and every day.
