Sermon outline
In the name of Jesus believers have authority over sickness: lay hands on the sick, speak the word, and call it done, because every spirit has ears and must listen to the name above every name.
Main text
- Mark 16:18
Opening
The reel opens as he tells the church the service will be a little different that morning and calls everyone who is sick in their body to come up to the altar quickly, standing in the aisle if there is not enough space.
We take authority over it
He binds every spirit of infirmity, sickness and disease and every fiery dart of the devil thrown at the people of God, and declares that if they have committed any sin it is forgiven them. He asks for a catcher behind each person and releases the anointing for healing, because the Word says to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
“This is an opportunity, a divine moment, where we will lay hands and they will recover.”
- Ephesians 6:16
- James 5:15
- Mark 16:18
I call it done
Moving along the line, he commands every foul spirit to let go of God's people and declares them healed of the Lord, blessed of the Lord and sanctified by the Lord, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet. He prays strength into bodies and calls it done, saying they will go away with results.
“And I call it done, Lord. They'll go away with results.”
Standing in proxy
For those standing in for someone who is not there, he binds the spirit that has come to kill, steal and destroy and commands it to go. He lays hands on a handkerchief that a young man will take back to his mother, declares her free, well and healed, and tells him to place it on her.
Illustration: The young man brings the handkerchief forward, and he tells him that all he has to do is take it home and place it on her.
“All you have to do is just take it and place it on her.”
- John 10:10
- Acts 19:11-12
Every spirit has ears
He speaks a word to the whole church: if you have family members, saved or not, who are sick, you have authority in the name of Jesus to lay hands on them and speak the word of the Lord. Every spirit has ears and will listen, not because of your strength but because of the name that is above every other name.
“Every spirit has ears. They will listen.”
- Philippians 2:9-11
Jesus is Lord in this atmosphere
After a time of worship, the reel shows the opening prayer of the same service. He acknowledges the Holy Spirit as the orchestrator and author of everything they do, because anything attempted without Him is mere religion. The Spirit quickens things and turns them around, bringing healing, life and breakthrough in dry times, and he declares Jesus Lord of the church, of every life, marriage, business, child and family.
“Anything we try and attempt to do without you is just mere religion, a form of godliness, denying the power thereof.”
- 2 Timothy 3:5
Putting it into practice
- If you are sick, come forward for prayer.
- Lay hands on sick family members and speak the word of the Lord over them.
- Rely on the name of Jesus, not your own strength.
- Acknowledge the Holy Spirit in everything you do.
Closing
He has the church greet one another and welcome each other into the presence of the Lord, and the reel then returns to his call for the sick to come to the altar.
In his words
- “Every spirit has ears. They will listen.”
- “Not by your strength, but in the name of Jesus Christ.”
- “And I call it done, Lord. They'll go away with results.”
- “You bring healing where there's sickness. You bring life where there's death.”
- “Jesus is Lord. I want to declare that in the atmosphere.”
