Sermon outline
When people make a demand on God's power, the devil has to let go and the sick are healed, and those who receive must not keep quiet but tell everybody and bring them to church.
Opening
The reel opens in a healing line as a man brings a young girl, the daughter of a friend, who has been troubled at night by an evil spirit. He has her look at him and begins to deal with the spirit.
You'll leave this young girl alone
He rebukes the devil and commands the foul spirit to come out of the girl and never hinder her again, declaring that she will not do anything abnormal again and is completely free. Through an interpreter he tells her that from today her life will never be the same: no devil will hinder her, the angels of God will encamp round about her and the fire of God will be all around her. Her family then testify that since that day she has been well and is back at school.
“Young girl, from today your life's never going to be the same.”
- Psalm 34:7
Healed and don't even know it
He has a woman take off her shoes, commands the pain to go and tells her to walk, then to run, saying the power of God will hit her as she runs. Sometimes people are healed and do not even know it, because they are so conditioned to the pain.
Illustration: He calls for a man to interpret, and the woman who could not walk is soon running around the front.
“Sometimes people get healed, they don't even know they're healed.”
These people have made a demand
He asks a man where he is from and learns that his whole family has driven a long way for the meeting that night. That is the faith Jesus spoke of finding when He returns: these people made a demand and came all that way. He asks who is sick among them and declares the problem over that night, commanding the spirit that brought the sickness to release her, setting her foot free and telling her to walk.
“These people have made a demand. They come all that way.”
- Luke 18:8
You must not keep quiet
He speaks healing over a woman in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding her body to conform to the word of God and become whole, then has her test it in front of the church. Because it is good to be healed, he tells her to go home and tell everybody that God healed her, and to put people in the taxi or the bus and bring them to church.
“You must go and tell everybody: God healed me. Come to the church.”
I prayed for you on a Tuesday
He calls up a couple who had phoned him for prayer and driven a long way for it, and the wife testifies that her doctor's tests now show her healed. He reminds them that he prayed for them on a Tuesday and told her husband she was healed, and thanks God that the condition will never return. A young woman then tells how she only realised she was healed once she got home, and he has her show the church.
“Father, thank you, that thing will never return to her in the name of Jesus.”
Putting it into practice
- Come to God with a demand of faith, even if it means travelling far.
- Expect the devil to let go when the name of Jesus is used.
- Check your body: you may be healed and not know it yet.
- Do not keep quiet: tell everybody what God has done and bring them to church.
Closing
The reel ends as the young woman tells how long she had suffered and he marvels at it, followed by 'We'll be right back'.
