Favour Will Bail You Out: Shout Grace to Your Mountains
Dr RJ Sing, 1 November 2020, 48 min, Part 4 of Enjoying the Favor of God
This is the whole service. The video opens where he begins, at 52:22.
Originally preached as “Enjoying the Favor of God, Part 4”
Sermon outline
God takes pleasure in your prosperity and dispenses grace and favour, so stop moaning and start declaring favour over your life, family and mountains, because declaring favour is connected to seeing it, and favour makes a passage of victory through every storm.
Main text
- Psalm 35:27
- Mark 11:23-24
- Genesis 39:2-6
Opening
He greets viewers as Dr Sing from FCI Rhema Durban, prays that the Word will go out with accuracy and anointing, and binds Satan from harassing the Word. He recaps part 1: Jesus grew in wisdom, stature and favour with God and men, and favour means high regard and approval, a gift rather than a payment, and preferential treatment with special privileges.
Recap: facts about favour
You can pursue success by your own wits, but it is much easier with the favour of God. Favour can stop if it is not celebrated, it comes to those who obey the Word and the Spirit, and God uses people to solve problems in your life. It is not the norm: you can only experience God's favour by accepting Jesus. It begins with a seed and grows from small measures to greater ones, and it comes through intercessors and through solving problems for others.
Illustration: A farmer waits patiently for his harvest only because he has already put seed in the ground.
“If you celebrate it in small doses and small measures, greater doses and measures of the favor of God will hit you and hit your life.”
- Luke 2:40
- Judges 13:24
- Luke 2:52
God takes pleasure in your prosperity
Let the Lord be magnified, who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. Whoever speaks to the mountain without doubting will have what he says, and whatever you ask in prayer, believe that it is granted. The Hebrew word for grace, chen, means favour, kindness and graciousness.
“God actually takes pleasure when you prosper.”
- Psalm 35:27
- Mark 11:23-24
Declare favour every day
Revelation of God's favour is not enough; you must confess and declare it daily, whatever crisis you face, because death and life are in the power of the tongue. Parents find it easy to shout at their children and correct them; change that practice into speaking favour over your children, your spouse and your home.
“There is a divine connection between declaring the favor of God and the manifestation of favor.”
- Proverbs 18:21
Shout grace and favour to your mountains
You are marked with God's blessing, and everywhere you go people will see it. Even if you are quiet or timid, instead of moaning and complaining, have a praise party and shout grace and favour to your circumstances. Words of faith build a bridge that takes you over the storm, not under it, and he prophesies mountains crumbling, marriages turning around, businesses working out and divine strategies visiting.
Illustration: In South Africa farmers mark their cattle, sheep and goats, so if one strays onto a neighbour's land everyone knows whose it is; he stresses he is not calling anyone an animal, but you are marked with God's blessing.
“According to the word of God, we are to shout out grace and favor to our mountains.”
- Zechariah 4:7
- Mark 11:23
Ask big, because we have a big God
God watches over His Word to perform it and is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, so our prayers are often too small. People misunderstand preachers, but how can anyone hear without a preacher? Receive what the Word preaches, because it is ridiculous to believe in healing and reject prosperity: every man and woman who walked with God was visibly blessed.
“We need to ask large because we have a large God.”
- Jeremiah 1:12
- Ephesians 3:20
- Romans 10:14
God is a dispenser of grace and favour
Paul opened and closed his letters by declaring grace, favour and spiritual blessing over the churches, and he declares favour over his own church even when he deals with negative things. Our culture puts its hope in money, materialism and government, but bring God back into the equation. Great grace rested on the early church so that no one lacked, and in Christ we are heirs of God, redeemed from the curse so that the blessing of Abraham comes on the Gentiles; he speaks of himself as a Gentile once alienated and now reconciled.
“Motivational speaking will bring you inspiration. But the word of God will bring you revelation.”
- Romans 1:7
- 1 Corinthians 1:3
- 2 Corinthians 1:2
- Galatians 6:18
- Acts 4:33-35
- Philippians 1:7
- Romans 8:14-17
- Galatians 3:13-14
- 2 Corinthians 5:18
Favour makes a passage of victory in the storm
Favour is the difference between winning and losing, so never throw in the towel: if a storm has a beginning point, it has an end point. Meditate on the Word, not the negative. The Lord was with Joseph and made all he did prosper, and Joseph was well favoured; nothing could stop him and nothing can stop you. When the enemy tries to silence you, refuse to keep quiet and declare God's grace and favour.
“Your low circumstances is not your final landing place. You are about to lift off.”
- Genesis 39:2-6
- Job 10:12
- Psalm 84:11
- Psalm 30:5
Putting it into practice
- Celebrate every measure of favour you experience.
- Declare favour daily over your life, children, spouse and household.
- Shout grace and favour to your mountains instead of complaining.
- Pray big prayers to a big God.
- Never give up in the storm; refuse to speak anything but the Word.
Closing
He makes a string of declarations over viewers: wealth and riches are in their house, God's favour shields them, they are highly favoured, and today is a game changer. He offers a prayer of salvation to those who have lost hope, prays against sickness and for broken marriages and directionless young people, and gives the priestly blessing. He ends by praying for South Africa's leaders and urging people not to divide along racial and ethnic lines, because all are made in God's image.
Declarations he led
- Dear God, I come to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your word says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. I now ask Jesus to come into my heart, to be the Lord of my life, to receive eternal life into my spirit.
- I now declare my sins are forgiven. I'm now a child of God. I'm saved. Greater is he that's in me than he that is in the world.
- My old life has changed. My new life has begun. I am now a blood-washed child of God. And Jesus resides on the inside of me.
- I am somebody because God made me somebody.
In his words
- “It's much easier to get it with the favor with God.”
- “How about us having a praise party to shout out grace and to shout out favor to our circumstances.”
- “It is simply absolutely ridiculous for you to believe in healing and reject prosperity.”
- “If there is a beginning point to a crisis and a storm, then there's an end point to that storm and to that crisis.”
- “When the favor of God is on your life, you are on your way to victory.”
