Giving Is Sowing (Part 2)

Dr RJ Sing

“But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-7

In order to obtain increase, a farmer must follow certain basic rules. The following guidelines that are employed in agriculture are also applicable in the area of giving:

  1. The farmer must choose good, suitable soil and the right kind of crop for the right kind of soil.
  2. He must make proper preparation of the soil.
  3. He must take proper care of the crop as it grows.

If the farmer does not meet these conditions, he will not receive the increase that he ought to receive. His failure to receive will not be because there is anything wrong with the Laws of Agriculture, but because he has not applied some of the basic rules. So, in order to receive a harvest, you have to practice the Principle of Sowing. If one does not sow seed (finances) then one must not expect a harvest. However if you are a bonafide sower, you will reap and continue reaping. As you apply this principle, you will indeed see results.
