This is a short edit of Out of the Basin, Onto the Door: Overcoming by the Blood of the Lamb. Watch the full message for the complete teaching.

Sermon outline

Honour and humility keep you under God's blessing, your confession applies the blood where you live, and God's increase comes when you stop pleading and start seeding.

Main text

  • Exodus 12:22
  • Revelation 12:11

Opening

After a short television opening on the spoken Word and the power of God, the clip joins him mid-message as he teaches that God wants us to honour the office, not the man, so that the blessing on the office can flow to us.

  1. Honour the office, and remember where you prospered

The commandment to honour your parents carries a promise of long life, and honouring your spiritual parents also releases God's blessing and multiplication. Many forget, once God has blessed them, that they prospered in the house of God.

Illustration: Lot's herds grew because he was joined to Abraham, but when Abraham let him choose the land, he chose for himself instead of saying, 'You're the senior, the grace is on your life, you choose.' He adds his own testimony: before he met God he was nobody, and his prosperity came when he began to honour men and women of God.

“God wants you to honor the office so that you can get the blessings that come out of the office.”

    • Exodus 20:12
    • Genesis 13:8-11
  2. Keep yourself small in your own eyes

The Lord told him to keep himself small in his own eyes, because as God prospers people they can become puffed up, and pride comes before a fall. Say, 'God, it's you': the car, the clothes, the family, the house, the victories and even healing through doctors all come from Jehovah Rapha. Meekness is not weakness; meek people get results.

Illustration: Moses, the meekest man, told God he could not speak, so God gave him Aaron, yet when Moses threw down his rod before Pharaoh he saw results.

“Humility is strength because it's harnessed power.”

    • Proverbs 16:18
    • Exodus 15:26
    • Numbers 12:3
    • Exodus 4:10-16
  3. Number one: the blood in the basin will not help you

The blood protected no one until it was taken from the basin and applied to the lintel and doorposts. In the new covenant we apply it by our confession, testifying to what the blood has done, and obedience comes before the sprinkling of the blood. Since Christ is our Passover and the High Priest of our confession, make your words agree with the Word of God.

    “No confession, no protection.”

    • Exodus 12:22
    • Revelation 12:11
    • 1 Peter 1:1-2
    • 1 Corinthians 5:7
    • Hebrews 3:1
  4. Let them wonder: the redeemed of the Lord say so

Do not call yourself sick and weak, and do not make excuses when people see you prospering; just say God is good. Envy is part of the package, but you are a sign and a wonder. You may have little now, but God will give uncommon victories to those who do uncommon things, and He is looking for people who will say so.

Illustration: People watching you prosper keep saying, 'I wonder how she's doing it.' His answer: let them wonder.

“You are a sign and a wonder.”

    • Psalm 107:2
  5. Stay under the blood and receive His mercy

Out of time for his planned teaching on the sevenfold application of the blood, he urges the church to keep covering themselves, their children, homes and possessions with the blood and to keep speaking God's Word. As communion is served, he says he once taught the elements were only symbolic and repents of that, then contrasts Abel's blood with Jesus' blood: Jesus is a High Priest touched with our weaknesses, and whoever calls on the Lord will be helped.

“As long as we're under the blood, Satan can't touch you.”

    • 2 Timothy 1:7
    • Genesis 15:1
    • Genesis 4:10
    • Hebrews 12:24
    • Hebrews 4:15
    • Joel 2:32
    • 1 Corinthians 11:26
  6. My God shall supply: stop pleading, start seeding

Paul made it personal: 'my God' shall supply all your need. He prophesies that court cases and legal matters will fall away, that big bills and debts can be cancelled (though people should keep paying until the manifestation comes), and that what the enemy has stolen must be restored sevenfold. He shares how he once pleaded and cried before God until God told him to stop pleading and start seeding, and that secret ended his misery.

Illustration: Facing church needs running into the millions, he began to 'withdraw from his heavenly account', saying, 'Lord, somebody's got my cheque.' In his early years he studied criminology and psychology, stood stiff in church unable to clap, and went home to fast, cry and plead, until God told him to stop pleading and start seeding.

    “Stop pleading, start seeding.”

    • Zechariah 4:6
    • Philippians 4:19
    • Proverbs 6:31

Putting it into practice

  • Honour your spiritual leaders and remember where you prospered.
  • Give God the credit for everything you have.
  • Confess what the blood has done and make your words agree with God's Word.
  • Cover yourself, your family and your possessions with the blood every day.
  • Stop pleading with God and start sowing seed in faith.

Closing

After communion he blesses the church with wisdom, witty inventions, divine connections and increase, and has them prophesy to one another, 'My suffering is over.' He declares that faith is now, says the Lord told him that one Sunday the church will testify for the whole service, and ends rejoicing in the Holy Spirit.

Declarations he led

  • Lord, no accident, no plague, no calamity, no sickness, no destruction.
  • Lord Jesus, we receive this bread as your flesh.
  • Lord Jesus, I receive the cup as your blood. And as I do this, I proclaim your death until you come.
  • Get ready for increase.
  • My suffering is over.
  • My suffering days are over.

In his words

  • “Humility is strength because it's harnessed power.”
  • “No confession, no protection.”
  • “You are a sign and a wonder.”
  • “Stop pleading, start seeding.”
  • “Once I learned that secret, my life changed.”
